The BP Surf Rescue New Zealand
Championships is the national event for IRB's in New Zealand.
This prestigious event will be held this year at chilly deep
south at Warrington Beach, Otago from 30 March - 1 April 2012, with
over 100 crews competing this will once again be a popular and
spectacular event.
The BP Surf Rescue New Zealand championships will start on
Friday, with 307 competitors from 27 clubs donning wetsuits and
braving the southern climes for three days of racing.
Leading the charge are defending national premier champions
Andrew Cronin and James Morwood from East End. The strong
Taranaki club has the biggest contingent heading south this
weekend, with 32 competitors, and Cronin and Morwood are the
reigning world champions in the craft.
